Greenhouse Competitiveness and Innovation Initiative (GCII)
Receive up to 50% of a max of $1M in Grant Funding.
The Greenhouse Competitiveness and Innovation Initiative (GCII) supports Ontario-based greenhouse businesses to invest in projects that will increase competitiveness and/or increase access to new or existing markets. This encompasses an array of business expansion-related investments.
Funding Amount
Up to 50% of eligible expenses up to a maximum of $1,000,000 in non-repayable funding.
Eligible Applicants
Organizations: Not-for-profit, Ontario-based, legally recognized entity representing the commercial greenhouse industry.
Partnerships: Two or more entities that have an arm’s length relationship can apply. Partnerships can include for-profit, not-for-profit, academic research institutions, etc.
Eligible Activities
Energy efficiency, input reduction, production improvement, biosecurity, waste management, food safety, labour production efficiency, business planning, marketing, and environmental sustainability.
Deadline to Apply
This program is currently closed as of June 19, 2020. Final deadline for project completion should be November 30, 2022. View other Canadian business expansion funding programs.
