SkillsPEI Workplace Skills Training

Receive Up to 50% of Training Costs in Funding.

The Workplace Skills Training program is a Prince Edward Island (PEI) provincial government cost-sharing program that covers up to half of the cost for eligible employee training. This program is only available to employers in Prince Edward Island and is administered through SkillsPEI, a government agency that administered the former Canada PEI Job Grant. The goal of this program is to help employees develop skills to meet the demands of today’s economy.

Funding Amount

Receive grant funding covering up to 50% of direct training costs. The applicant will be required to contribute the remaining 50%.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible employers include, registered private sector businesses, organization acting on behalf of a group of employers, band/tribal councils.

Eligible Activities

Eligible training must be short term and meet job-specific and incremental industry requirements of the organization. Training that is required by an organization will not be eligible.

Deadline to Apply

This program has no set deadline and will accept applications until funding has been exhausted. Training can start after a business’ funding application is approved by SkillsPEI.
