New Brunswick – SCAP – Advancing Agri-Food Processing Program
Receive up to $100,000 in Agri-Food Processing Funding.
As a result of the New Brunswick SCAP Advancing Agri-Food Processing Program, New Brunswick’s agri-food processing and manufacturing companies will be able to innovate, increase their competitiveness, improve accuracy, as well as improve their quality and efficiency.

New Brunswick – SCAP – Advancing Agri-Food Processing Program
Amount of Funding
Applicants may receive the following funding allotments if their application is successful:
- Access up to 30-50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $100,000 for projects involving primary producers; or
- Receive up to 25% of the eligible costs to a maximum of $50,000 for projects involving a processor or manufacturer not involved in primary agriculture.

Eligible Applicants
Funding is only available to the applicants who meet one of the following criteria:
- Resident of the Province of New Brunswick who is at least 19 years of age;
- Project location is within the Province of New Brunswick; and
- Project benefits the Province of New Brunswick.
Further funding criteria includes:
- Indigenous Peoples or Organizations;
- Agriculture producers (individuals or groups) to further process their primary products or value add;
- Abattoirs involved in further processing or value-added;
- Agri-Food processing facilities;
- Agri-Food licensed Commercial Kitchens;
- Agriculture producer associations;
- Academic or research institutions; and
- Other individuals or groups capable of achieving program objectives.

Eligible Activities
Production Improvement and Processing Capacity Expansion stream provides financial assistance for the purchase of specialized and/or automated equipment that will increase efficiency, quality, productivity, and competitiveness.
Eligible Activities include:
- Equipment cost for processing and packaging for the final value-added product (e.g., Pumps, extractors, juice presses, color sorter, fermenter tanks, conventional ovens, blenders, smokers, peelers, meat-cutting equipment, stainless steel tanks, and more);
- New and innovative technology; or
- Incremental equipment for scaling or for product diversification.
Food Processing and Manufacturing Process Efficiency and Analysis stream supports the review of the facility’s current production methods and identifies where efficiencies can be gained, or new technologies adopted to increase productivity.
Eligible Activities include:
- Consultant fees;
- Expenses directly related to the cost of process efficiency and improvement analysis;
- Implementing automation;
- Efficient manufacturing processes; or
- Technology review and processing line design for integration of new technology.

Program Deadline
- Program applications are welcome on an ongoing basis until funding is exhausted.
- Approved projects must be completed within the fiscal year for which they were approved (April 1 to March 31). Multi-year projects may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
