Providing capital investments support to modernization and capacity building activities that will assist in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and environmental sustainability is one of the goals of the SCAP Capital Infrastructure and Investments program.

Amount of Funding
Ranging from $50,000 up to $2.5M depending on project size and stream.

Eligible Applicants
Applicants who are eligible for this program include the following:
- agri-food processors;
- Processors of agricultural products;
- Kitchens licensed for commercial use;
- Producers of primary products;
- Agricultural initiatives undertaken by Indigenous governments, businesses, communities, and organizations;
- Suppliers of food and ingredients (wholesalers);
- An abattoir; and
- As long as the funded activities occur in Manitoba or have a positive impact on the province, they can be from within or outside Manitoba.

Eligible Activities
Capital assets – processing equipment:
- Through capital investment purchases to enhance efficiency, productivity, and environmental sustainability, Manitoba’s agri-processing sector is supported in its growth and expansion;
Capital assets – enterprise resource planning software:
- Integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software supports continued growth of businesses by providing software that effectively manages operations, increases efficiency, and increases profitability;
Capacity building for quality control:
- This stream assists companies in monitoring and managing potential problems caused by microbial growth, chemical contamination, or physical contamination; and
Co-packing capacity building:
- By providing and increasing funding for co-packing services, this stream assists entrepreneurs in scaling up their food businesses.
