OpenHDMaps Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN) Ventures
Receive up to $50,000 in Government Funding.
As administered by Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and Communitech, the OpenHDMaps Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN) Ventures program supports Ontario businesses to advance the commercial readiness of high definition (HD) maps and mapping technologies. These technologies can support the connected and autonomous vehicle sector or a range of other industries that require advanced mapping technologies. In addition to funding, successful applicants may receive time with technology and business coaches while gaining access to the AVIN Demonstration Zone.
Funding Amount
Access up to $50k per application. Requires a company contribution of $75k to access full $50k funding, leading to a project budget of at least $125k.
Eligible Applicants
Ontario startups and SMEs that currently use mapping technology and data-driven maps. Applicants do not need to be directly related to the automotive sector.
Eligible Activities
Development and testing of artificial intelligence for map production, sensor and multiple data source fusion for map production.

Accepts applications through scheduled, defined cohorts.
