Agtech Growth Fund (AGF)
Receive up to $450,000 in Agriculture Tech Funding.
As part of the Agtech Growth Fund (AGF), the provincial government funds research and development (R&D) in order to accelerate the commercialization of innovations in the agricultural sector that have the potential to transform agriculture.

Amount of Funding
Eligible applicants can receive up to $450,000 in non-repayable grants from the AGF program with a lifetime maximum of $900,000.

Eligible Applicants
To be considered for funding, all applications must meet the following criteria:
- Groups of active private sector partners representing the value chain of the project must propose it. It is required that active partners contribute cash, in-kind services, equity investment, or a letter of intent to purchase to the project.
- Saskatchewan-based organizations must lead projects
- Indicate how the technological innovation can be implemented to solve a specific industry-wide challenge and benefit the agriculture industry as a whole.
- Innovative and novel technological solutions are required.
- Describe how the project will be commercialized and how it will be sustained in the long run.
- Industry partners must provide 50% or more of the project’s budget. The amount requested from IS is no more than 30% of the proposed budget.

The following project themes are eligible for funding under the AGF program:
- Software and hardware for digital agriculture (e.g., sensors, imagery, precision agriculture)
- Robotics, automation, and machinery for smart farms
- The health of animals
- Traceability of the Agrifood Supply Chain
- Markets and Fintech in Agriculture
