Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program (CASPP)
Receive up to $1,000,000 in Non-Repayable Funding.
The Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program (CASPP) provides funding for projects that address national or sector-wide priorities that help the agricultural industry mitigate emerging issues and capitalize on opportunities. This program is offered through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP) 5 year funding program.

Amount of Funding
Applicants for CASPP may receive up to 50% of non-repayable contribution sharing for up to $1 million in funding. Applicants may receive up to 75% of total project costs if the project is deemed to be of high-priority for the industry or sector.
Funding sources may also be allocated from the following:
- Government departments at the federal, provincial, territorial, municipal levels; and
- Partners at the industry level such as:
- Businesses;
- Academia; and/or;
- Industry associations and networks.

Eligible Applicants
Applicants may be eligible if they are not-for-profit organizations, or Indigenous groups. For-profits are typically ineligible but may be considered if the project is considered to be of significant benefit to the industry/sector.

Eligible Activities
An activity may be eligible if it meets one or all of the following requirements:
- Coordinated approaches to take advantage of emerging opportunities such as new technology production systems, robotic refinement, and carbon reduction goals of processing activities;
- Testing and/or adopting research collaboration opportunities such as Establishing and advancement of technology through networks such as sector-led organizations, international trade verifications, and big data collection;
- Solving technical hurdles to overcome the obstacles of adopting new technology in Canadian agriculture such as Artificial intelligence for automated farming and safety technologies; and
- Developing more value-added products such as bioproducts from plants, applying new tech, and blockchain.

Program Deadline
Continuous application intake where applications are accepted year-round; projects cannot exceed five years in duration.
