In order to inform future deployments of similar vehicles, future programming, and future development of ZEV technologies, the Commercial Vehicle Pilot Program will support both deploying early market ZEVs and installing charging/fueling infrastructure, as well as collecting and sharing data on their projects.

Eligible Applicants
- Public and private fleets are eligible for program support;
- Applications for the Program must be submitted by the purchaser / lessee of the vehicle technology;
- Businesses, not-for-profit organizations, local governments, Indigenous governments, and public sector organizations (excluding provincial ministries and crowns, but including non-core organizations, such as health authorities and school districts) operating in British Columbia must be the primary applicant;
- All businesses must be licensed to operate in B.C; and
- An application for the program requires a copy of a valid B.C. business license.

Eligible Activities
On-road weight class 3 and 4 must deploy a minimum of six ZEVs. For weight class 5 and 6, applications must deploy a minimum of three ZEVs. For weight class 7 and 8, and off-road vehicle types, there is no minimum vehicle deployment number.
On-Road Vehicles
- All on-road vehicles must exceed a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg (i.e., Weight Class 3 and above);
- All Class 3-8 on-road vehicles must have zero tailpipe emissions associated with their operation;
- On-road vehicles must demonstrate a 56-kilometer all-electric range, or if fast-charge compatible, the vehicle must demonstrate a 32 kilometer all-electric range;
- The vehicle must be new, constructed entirely from new parts that have never been the subject of a retail sale, or previously registered in BC or another jurisdiction;
- Vehicles must remain plated, registered, and insured in British Columbia in the applicant’s name for at least 12 months from date of sale or lease; and
- The vehicle must be purchased or leased within Canada.
Off-Road Vehicles
- Priority will be given to vehicles that emit zero-emissions during operation;
- Funding may be used to support new vehicles, as well as projects that retrofit existing vehicles with zero-emission technology;
- Vehicles must be covered by Canadian emission regulations where appropriate;
- For off-road vehicles such as rail, marine vessels and aircraft, the vehicles must be majority operated in British Columbia for a minimum of 90% of its operational hours; and
- The vehicle must be purchased or leased within Canada.
