Agtech Growth Fund (AGF)

Receive up to $450,000 in Agriculture Tech Funding.

As part of the Agtech Growth Fund (AGF), the provincial government funds research and development (R&D) in order to accelerate the commercialization of innovations in the agricultural sector that have the potential to transform agriculture.

Funding Amount

Eligible applicants can receive up to $450,000 in non-repayable grants from the AGF program with a lifetime maximum of $900,000.

Eligible Applicants

To be considered for funding, all applications must meet be Saskatchewan-based organizations must lead projects making technological innovation to solve a specific industry-wide challenge and benefit the agriculture industry as a whole.

Eligible Activities

The following reflect some of the project themes eligible for funding under the AGF program:
Software and hardware for digital agriculture, robotics, automation, and machinery for smart farms, and the traceability of the Agrifood Supply Chain.

Eligible Applicants

To be considered for funding, all applications must meet the following criteria:

Groups of active private sector partners representing the value chain of the project must propose it. It is required that active partners contribute cash, in-kind services, equity investment, or a letter of intent to purchase to the project.
Saskatchewan-based organizations must lead projects
Indicate how the technological innovation can be implemented to solve a specific industry-wide challenge and benefit the agriculture industry as a whole.
Innovative and novel technological solutions are required.
Describe how the project will be commercialized and how it will be sustained in the long run.
Industry partners must provide 50% or more of the project’s budget. The amount requested from IS is no more than 30% of the proposed budget.
