Tourism Economic Development and Recovery Fund

Receive up to 50% of Eligible Costs.

The Tourism Economic Development and Recovery Fund supports Canadian tourism businesses with funding aimed at recovery projects designed to mitigate the financial tolls of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector.

Funding Amount

Successful applicants may receive funding matching up to 50% of total cash expenses. This program has no pre-determined limit, though applicants must provide convincing rationale for their projects.

Eligible Applicants

Municipalities, destination organizations, Indigenous organizations, tourism associations, not-for-profit and for-profit organizations (in the tourism industry) located in Ontario. Applicants must have one year of incorporation at submission date.

Eligible Activities

Successful activities include: (1) Delivery of membership services and activities provided by Ontario tourism associations, (2) consulting and project management services, (3) research and strategic planning, and (4) business support and economic assessments.
