$3.6M Boost for Local Manufacturers: How SWODF Funding is Transforming Windsor’s Economy
Ontario’s manufacturing sector is receiving a significant boost as the provincial government commits $3.6 million to support local expansions. Through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF), several companies in the Windsor area will benefit from investments aimed at driving innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing competitiveness.
“This investment keeps these companies at the forefront of technology; they invest, and then we support their investment, making them at the top of their game.”

Strengthening Local Businesses with SWODF
The SWODF funding has allocated substantial funding to support manufacturing projects across Windsor. Bear Performance Inc. will receive $500,000 toward a $3.7 million investment in advanced equipment to automate production. This project will increase efficiency and create five new jobs, boosting the company’s overall productivity.
Similarly, Crest Mold Technologies plans to expand its operations with an $8.7 million investment supported by $1.3 million from SWODF. This project will add new manufacturing capabilities, fostering innovation and generating ten new positions.
Select Tool Inc. is also expanding its 26,000 sq. ft. facility with a $2.5 million investment. With $375,000 in SWODF funding, the company will acquire new equipment and create 14 jobs, further enhancing its capacity and output.
Infrastructure Improvements for Economic Growth
In addition to funding individual businesses, the province is investing $1.5 million to support the City of Windsor’s $4.8 million land servicing project. This initiative aims to prepare the region for future industrial developments, including the NextStar Energy EV Battery Plant. Enhanced infrastructure will not only accommodate new manufacturing operations but also attract further investments.
“These projects represent a critical step in strengthening Ontario’s manufacturing capabilities while creating sustainable employment opportunities.”
