Presented by the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), the Best Defence Conference is an award-winning defence and security industry event which provides opportunities for national and international companies to network and understand key trends within their sector. Now in its fourth year, LEDC’s Best Defence Conference will be held at the London Convention Centre on November 4, 2015 and is set to attract over 320 leading defence industry companies. All attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Fraunhofer Project Centre for Composites Research in addition to Western’s WindEEE Dome.
Best Defence Conference Session Topics
Companies in the defence and security industry will learn about a variety topics pertaining to the sector, including:

Featured Speakers for Best Defence 2015
Best Defence Conference 2015 will host the industry’s top leading minds, comprised from a variety of backgrounds in business and the military. More than 15 speakers will share their insight on the above topics, providing an update on the industry’s changes and opportunities. A few of the speakers featured this year include:
Brigadier General (Ret.) Arne Skjaerpe has served a long and distinguished military career with over 30 years as a member of the Norwegian Armed Forces. It was there that he gained operational and management experience which he now uses as General Manager for Prox Dynamics USA, Inc. Arne has held a variety of positions in the defence and security industries and currently seeks to advance technical abilities of the industry.
Christyn Cianfarani is President of the Canadian Association of Defence & Security Industries (CADSI) which represents the interests of more than 1,000 member businesses. These members employ in excess of 109,000 Canadians and generate $12.6 billion in annual revenues. Spanning 17 years in the country’s aerospace, defence, and security industries, Christyn’s leadership has assisted the development of high-value advanced technology and further established an industry strategy.
Colonel George Petrolekas is a Strategic Advisor for the Canadian Forces, bringing his lifetime of knowledge as an Army Officer, Regiment Commander, and other positions to the conference. He has written a variety of research papers for the Government of Canada, NATO, and also authored many articles for some of the most prestigious newspapers in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Bernadeen McLeod is the Founder and President of Mentor Works Ltd. Working with clients across the country to secure Canadian government funding, she leverages her knowledge of a variety of industries (including aerospace and defence) to enable small business success. Bernadeen’s determination to assist companies in becoming more innovative, productive, and profitable helped to secure over $240 million for her clients in 2014.
