The first annual Guelph Start-up Weekend is happening on August 15^th, running through the weekend to August 17^th.Whether you are looking for a co-founder, new employees, or interested in learning more about what it takes to start your own business; everyone is guaranteed to walk away better-equipped for navigating the fun but chaotic world of startups.

Background on the Global Grassroots of the Startup Weekend Movement

Headquartered in Seattle, Washington as a not-for-profit, Startup Weekend has already had 1800 successful events in 120 countries around the world.It’s a movement composed of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding and launching successful ventures.

The Startup Weekend Model: A 54 Hour Frenzy of Business Model Creation

The basic model of every Startup Weekend event is that anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers.The weekend will culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
