Small Business Grants for Digital Media: OMDC Music Fund
The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) is an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport. OMDC supports Ontario’s cultural media through various small business grants programs, including the OMDC Music Fund in addition to other Ontario government funding programs for forms of media that include books, magazines, video games, film & television, and more.

Small business grants Ontario offered through OMDC support independent Ontario-based record companies, music publishers and artist management firms create and implement strategic marketing initiatives. Applicants to the OMDC Music Fund must demonstrate how OMDC support will help you strengthen and grow your business.
Ontario Government Grants for Small Business Details
Approved applicants will receive funding in the form of OMDC Music Fund small business grants  Ontario from $15,000 to $50,000. With the possibility of an additional $10,000 in funding for projects with a digital focus. The Deadline for applications to this program is 5pm on July 15th, 2013.

Record companies that have received Ontario government funding for small business include Coalition Records, Dine Alone Records, Six Shooter Records, Ole Media Management and more.  Artists supported through these record labels include Mia Martina, D-Sisive, and a host of other Juno award nominated musicians.
