SD Tech Fund has Allocated More than Half a Billion Dollars Since 2002
According to SDTC, the global clean technology market is worth an estimated $1 trillion. The Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) subsidizes the cost of innovative Canadian clean tech projects to help Canada participate in this burgeoning industry through the SD Tech Fund, SD Natural Gas Fund, and the NextGen Biofuels Fund. The SD Tech Fund supports the late-stage development and pre-commercial demonstration of clean technology solutions that contribute to cleaner air, water, and land while addressing climate change and improving productivity and the global competitiveness of the Canadian industry.

SDTC Tech Fund Success Stories
Accelerated Systems Inc. (ASI): ASI is a Waterloo, ON firm that creates intelligent drivetrain solutions for battery electric and hybrid vehicles. With traditional off-road vehicles facing stricter emissions standards manufacturers of traditional gas engines are having more trouble reaching these targets. With the help of the SDTC Tech Fund, ASI is developing a 50kW hybrid electric drive train.
Atlantic Packaging Limited: Atlantic Packaging of Brampton, ON provides its customers with innovative and sustainable packaging products. With the help of the SDTC Tech Fund, Atlantic Packaging is developing its system by Torftech, which converts paper mill biomass waste to energy while recovering clay from waste. The process both reduces the mill’s consumption of natural gas and minimizes landfill utilization.
