Nestlé Canada is a food and beverage processor that manufactures and sells a variety of products from coffee to frozen meals to pet foods. Headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, Nestlé is a highly-respected brand and a global market leader that achieves consistent growth both in Canada and across the world.
Nestlé Canada’s business expansion project recently attracted over $390,000 in government funding support through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund.
Nestlé Canada’s ice cream facility in London, Ontario received Ontario government funding through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF). This support, combined with the company’s own investment, will be used for facility expansion to update the manufacturing process and allow for more flexibility in the production lines.
Nestlé Canada Business Expansion Funding with SWODF
Nestlé Canada’s London, Ontario facility manufactures and distributes ice cream and frozen desserts. Some popular brands produced at this manufacturing plant include Parlour, Drumstick and Häagen-Dazs.
Nestlé Canada’s superior branding and global awareness has enabled new growth opportunities, including greater penetration of its North American markets. Expanding the company’s London, Ontario plant will help serve its growing consumer base while also diversifying product lines. Ultimately, Nestlé’s investment of over $2.2 million will help drive productivity and output, enabling the division to become more competitive against local and global competition.
Through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, Nestle has been awarded over $390,000 in Ontario government funding.
This funding will offset a portion of Nestlé’s project costs and improve its scale, scope, and positive impacts. As result of the project, Nestlé Canada expects to create 12 new jobs and retain another 380 existing jobs.
