Celebrate National Biotechnology Week in Canada by Accessing $20K in Funding for Hiring
Mentor Works is celebrating biotechnology week in Canada by helping to bring a lucrative funding opportunity to the attention of Canadian small and medium-sized businesses. Funded through ESDC Canadian business grants of up to $20,000 are being offered to firms in Canada that are looking to hire recent graduates for 30 hours or more per week for a minimum of 3 months. The funding for hiring in biotechnology program will continue to fund the position at a rate of $1 grant funding for each dollar contributed by the applicant firm, up to $20,000 or until March 31, 2015 (whichever comes first).
Who is Eligible for Canadian Government Grants for Hiring in Biotechnology?
In order to qualify for Canadian small business grants for hiring, prospective employees must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduate from a post-secondary institution within the last three years;
- Be between the ages of 15-30,
- Be registered on a program-specific online job board specific to the Canadian bio-economy, (we can help with this);
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status;
- Be legally entitled to work in the province or territory;
- Not be in receipt of Employment Insurance at the start of your placement.
