About the Build in Canada Innovation Program
BCIP is a permanent, competitive first purchase program offered by the Canadian government. Canadian companies can submit a proposal for their innovative, pre-commercial products or services that have the potential to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the government. Contract values of up to $500,000 will be potentially awarded to each successful applicant. $17 million has been set aside for this final Call for Proposals.
How the Build in Canada Innovation Program Works
Upon the closing of a BCIP Call for Proposals applicants are evaluated in order to produce a pool of pre-qualified proposals. From the pool of pre-qualified proposals, PWGSC will attempt to match a testing department with the innovative product of each pre-qualified applicant. PWGSC will attempt to negotiate a contract with those pre-qualified applicants that receive a “good fit.” Contracts are not guaranteed to be awarded.
When is the Next BCIP Call for Proposals?
BCIP Calls for Proposal typically take place twice per year. Expect more information on regarding the next call for proposals early Q2 2015.
