The Gryphon’s LAAIR Program Supports Innovative University of Guelph Projects
According to the news release offered by Program Coordinator, David Hobson, the Gryphon’s “Leading to Accelerated Adoption of Innovative Research (LAAIR) Program” aims to help accelerate the commercialization of new products and services that improve the competitiveness of the Ontario agricultural sector. Ontario government grants offered through LAAIR will help remove obstacles to commercialization and market adoption of existing science based solutions needed by our agri-food and rural economy. Full details of the program including submission guidelines and application templates will be available January 9, 2015.
U of G Catalyst Centre’s Dr. David Hobson Appointed Program Coordinator
The announcement served a dual purpose of informing the public of the appointment of a well-known member of the University of Guelph research community, Dr. David Hobson. David has been the Technology Transfer Manager at the Catalyst Centre for the past 6 years. Prior to his serving at the Catalyst Centre David spent 8 years in the pharmaceutical industry and 3 years in private small animal veterinary medicine. David’s wealth of knowledge and experience spanning areas such as engineering, marketing, management, veterinary medicine and biomedical research will bring considerable benefits to the oversight of the Gryphon’s LAAIR program.
