The Food in Canada Leadership Awards are now looking for nominations for the 2015 awards presented by Food in Canada and Grant Thornton. Food and beverage processors will be awarded for excellence in each of the following 5 categories:

  1. Growth
  2. Innovation
  3. Stewardship
  4. Community & Industry Leadership
  5. Health & Wellness

Food in Canada and Grant Thornton are Looking for 2015 Leadership Award Nominees

Food in Canada and Grant Thornton are now looking for nominations for 2015; winners will be profiled in the April 2015 issue of Food in Canada. Take the opportunity to nominate a Canadian-based food and beverage processor for the 2015 Food in Canada Leadership Awards. There is no cost to nominate a company for the awards, and the process takes only a few minutes.

Stemmler’s Meat and Cheese, 2014 Food in Canada Leadership Award: Health and Wellness Award

Stemmler’s Meat and Cheese was founded by Gerard and MaryAnn Stemmler in 1985 in Heidelberg, ON, where it continues to operate until this day. Like many small food processors, Stemmler’s began out of a family garage with an outlet at a local farmer’s market. Over the past several years Stemmler’s Meat and Cheese have gained attention for catering to the health needs of people with special dietary needs, in addition to having received numerous awards that include those from local media, Profit magazine, and the Ontario Independent Meat Processors Council (OIMP).
