How to Qualify for GF2 Ontario Producers Capacity Building
The Growing Forward 2 Ontario government funding program for Producers in the Capacity Building Stream provides funding to investigate projects that improve farms in the areas of: Environment and Climate Change, Assurance Systems, Market Development, Plant and Animal Health, Labour Productivity Enhancement, Business and Leadership Development.
Growing Forward 2 Ontario Government Funding for Producers, Capacity Building: Funding Details
Projects that are eligible for a government grant for up to 50% of the project costs include the following activities: planning, audits, assessments, training, education, and skills development. The maximum amount of funding available from this five year program is $350,000 across both the Capacity Building and Project Implementation Streams. Multiple projects can be submitted for Capacity Building funding as well.
GF2 Funding for Small Business: Company Eligibility
Producers who are eligible for Capacity Building funding must meet the following criteria:
- Produce agricultural commodities in Ontario
- File business and/or farm income/loss taxes in Ontario
- Have a Premises Identification Number for the farm property where the proposed Capacity Building activity applies, and
- Have a valid Farm Business Registration Number (FBRN) or equivalent.
New producers are eligible, as well, for Capacity Building Funding.
Small Business Grants Ontario for Producers: Project Eligibility
Funding assistance available through GF2 small business grants Ontario will support eligible Capacity Building activities in three types of projects:
- Education
- Skills development and training;
- Assessment and audit; and
- Planning
