Conestoga College Graduate Enterprise Internship – $10K Wage Subsidy

Conestoga College has recently joined the list of post-secondary institutions that offer the Graduate Enterprise Internship Program (GEI), also known as the iSTEM Program. The program is one of several Hiring Grants for Small Business in Ontario. The GEI/iSTEM program contributes 50% of a graduate’s wages, up to $10,000 per hired candidate, for 6-month internship position(s). The program focuses on job creation for recent graduates who have specialized in the areas Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). Before the addition of Conestoga, the only schools offering their services for the iSTEM/GEI program were Ryerson University and the University of Waterloo.

Conestoga College is now accepting applications for the Graduate Enterprise Internship (GEI), covering up to $10K of a recent STEM graduate’s 6-month internship.

Graduate Enterprise Internship Grant Funding Details

The GEI Program offers government funding grants for small businesses looking to increase their technical support or research and development capabilities. Applicants are able to recruit and train multiple interns at a time for a variety of integral positions within their organizations. Participating graduates can expect to receive valuable workplace experience and networking opportunities that could open up potential future employment opportunities in their area of expertise. In order to be considered eligible; interns must have received a degree in one of the disciplines of STEM and the business must operate in Southern Ontario with less than 1,000 employees.
