Call for Proposals: SOSCIP Post-Secondary Research and Development Collaboration

The Southern Ontario Smart Computing Innovation Platform (SOSCIP) Program is a consortium of IBM, the Canadian and Ontario governments along with seven universities led by the University of Toronto and Western University.   The Ontario Centre of Excellence (OCE) will help facilitate SME participation with academia in this applied research consortium and help SME’s leverage the IP generated from the collaboration and commercialize it.

Objective of SOSCIP Partnerships

This call for proposals aims to help Ontario businesses:

  • Conduct research that drives innovation by collaborating with top talent researchers;
  • Solve real-world problems through the use of high performance computing platforms;
  • Create new products and/or services that can be commercialized in Ontario to drive economic development and demonstrate Ontario’s innovation on a global scale

Types of Projects Eligible for SOSCIP

Projects being considered for this post-secondary collaboration research and development opportunity will address one of the following:

  • Cities and infrastructure;
  • Healthcare;
  • Water Conservation and Management;
  • Agile Computing;
  • Energy Monitoring and Management

Proposals may be submitted at any time up to 5:00pm April 30, 2013 for this round of access.

SOSCIP Information Session

McMaster Industry Liaison Office (MILO) and Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) are hosting an information session:

Date: Thursday April 4, 2013

Time:  9:00 to 10:30AM

Place: McMaster Innovation Park, 175 Longwood Road South, Suite 305 (MILO Boardroom)

This meeting is being held with the purpose to share information on the SOSCIP Program’s 3rd call for proposals for collaborative research through OCE’s Southern Ontario Smart Computing Innovation Platform (SOSCIP).   Information given at this session is intended for industry partners that wish to work with McMaster University, or any of the seven Ontario-based universities participating in the SOSCIP program.
