The Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) Focus Areas
BCIP focuses 10 priority areas under two distinct component categories; Standard and Military.
Build in Canada Innovation Program: Standard Component
The following areas fall under the standard component:
- Environment
- Safety and security
- Health
- Enabling technologies
Build in Canada Innovation Program: Military Component
Priority areas under the military component, include:
- Command & Support
- Cyber-Security
- Protecting the Soldier
- Arctic and Maritime Security
- In-Service Support
- Training Systems
How Can My Business Qualify for BCIP?
Your business and its products or services must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible to participate in the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP):
- Your product or service must be valued at $500,000 or less,
- Your product or service cannot be commercially sold or available,
- Bidders must be Canadian companies,
- The content of the product or service must be at least 80% Canadian,
- Bidder must be able to provide ownership or rights to the IP,
- Product or service must fit within one of the priority areas of the program,
- Product or service must be of use to the federal government.
