Growing Forward 2: AgriMarketing for Small to Mid-Sized Enterprises
Growing Forward 2 has announced a new Canadian business grants program geared towards SMEs. This Federal government grants program is offered through the AgriMarketing program, under the Market Development SME Stream. The AgriMarketing Program is a five-year $341 million initiative (2013-2018). The SME stream is targeting the need for Canadian agriculture, agri-food, fish and seafood sectors to have support to develop new domestic and international markets.
Canadian Business Grants Details: AgriMarketing for SMEs
Funding through the AgriMarketing for SMEs program is provided as a grant to businesses with less than 200 employees and less than $50 million in sales. The maximum amount per year is $50,000 towards 50% of eligible project costs.
Activities Supported through AgriMarketing Small Business Grants
Small business grants offered through AgriMarketing for SMEs will support the following market development activities providing they are focused on developing exports:
- Advertising including the creation and production of advertising materials.
- Demonstrations and promotions
- Trade show participation, meetings and conferences
- Trade missions – incoming and outgoing
- Technical training for buyers
- Implementing branding and market development plans
Domestic marketing activities and ongoing or overhead type business costs are not eligible for government funding.
AgriMarketing Small Business Grants Program
Applications for this small business grants program are accepted on a continuous basis and must be completed by March 31, 2018. Progress and performance reports will be required throughout the project. To find out more about this new grant program, contact an expert at Mentor Works.
