The half-day event will provide an interactive platform for attendees to match their strategic initiatives to available Federal and Ontario government funding programs.
Canadian Government Funding Workshop Details
Mentor Works Ltd. and Global EMC Inc. recognize that many companies constantly seek ways to reduce costs to market, whether it is support for new staff members, hiring additional skilled engineers and technical staff or building new production equipment. This August event will provide helpful guidance and resources for finding and obtaining various government support programs specifically geared to support your growth, whether it may be strategic R&D, product development, commercialization, hiring and marketing initiatives. Funding programs detailed in this seminar will include:
- IRAP Accelerate Review Process (ARP): Up to a $50K small business funding grant, covering as much as 80% internal labour and 50% of subcontractor fees related to projects aimed at overcoming a technical challenge.
- New Horizons for MedTech: Up to a $30K medical business funding grant, covering 50% of export market development activities.
- Hiring Grants: $10K-80K towards the hiring of R&D, online marketing, engineers, scientists, software developers, export managers, and more.
The seminar will outline funding resources available from both provincial and federal governments in the form of non-repayable small business grants, zero-interest loans, and government guaranteed Canadian and Ontario business loans.

Eligibility for Funding Workshop for High-Tech Firms
This seminar is most useful for medical and high tech companies with at least ten employees that have been incorporated for two or more years and have at least $500K in annual revenue. Companies must also either manufacture or conduct R&D within Ontario; SME’s that outsource these activities internationally will not be eligible for the majority of the small business grants and loans discussed.
