Entrepreneurial Workshops – Acquiring Funding for Small Business

One of the major challenges faced by small businesses and start-ups is the inability to access investment capital. Many entrepreneurs will have to pitch their business concepts to several groups of angel investors and venture capitalists before they are able to aquire start-up funding. An exciting and engaging business presentation is one of the major keys to attracting investment funding for small business. Research Innovation Centres and ventureLABs will be holding a number of workshops for young entrepreneurs to practice and improve their pitches by presenting in front of a number of industry veterans and receiving valuable advice and feedback.

Winning Angel Investments Presentation

This workshop is intended to provide entrepreneurs with tricks and tips for attracting early investment funding for small business by creating an interesting and exciting pitch for their business concept. The event will feature a number of experts on acquiring finance and grant funding for small business. Participants will have an opportunity to present their business concepts to real angel investors to learn what to include and what to exclude in their business pitch.

When: April 30, 2012 – 9:00am to 5:00 pm

Growing Your Business

The Research Innovation Centre will be hosting their final breakfast seminar for entrepreneurs looking to start their own business. Growing Your Business workshops are held once every month, providing young and aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable advice and information regarding the complicated process of growing a business. The final event will allow participants to be able to present their business concepts in front of a group of experts in a Dragon’s Den themed atmosphere. Presenters will receive an opportunity to gain valuable advice and feedback regarding their business proposals and potentially a new investment opportunity.
