On Monday November 4th Royal Bank Canada (RBC) will host a workshop to highlight small business grants and loans opportunities as well as offer assistance in export development and small business finance options.

Mentor Works and Export Development Canada (EDC) to Present at RBC-Sponsored Event

Canadian business grants and loans expert Bernadeen McLeod, Founder and President of Mentor Works, along with Juzer Yusufali of EDC.  Juzer has been with EDC for 7 years and works as a Small Business Account Manager, working with Ontario exporters with annual revenues of up to $10 million.

Export Development Canada Services for Expanding Businesses Presentation (2:45-3:30pm)

Export Development Canada (EDC) is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Federal Government of Canada.   EDC offers products and services that include insurance, financing for Canadian companies, bonding solutions, and other risk management services to Canadian exporters and investors in as many as 200 markets worldwide.  Approximately 80% of EDC’s clients are small to medium-sized businesses.

Ken Giffen will be presenting on behalf of EDC and has been an Account Manager for the Ontario region at Export Development Canada (EDC) since 2006. He advises presidents and CFOs of SMEs on complex financial products to assist in their market expansions globally. In addition, he advises on current worldwide market intelligence. Ken has his Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University in Peterborough and attained his designation as a Certified International Trade Professional through Centennial College and Concordia University. In addition, Ken studied at the European Business Management School at the University of Wales as part of his undergraduate degree. Ken has lived, studied and worked in Sweden, Wales, Panama and Taiwan.
