APMA: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Fund
Up to 800 participants will receive up to $8,000.
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Fund is a funding program provided through the Automotive Parts Manufacturer’s Association (APMA) to attract, train, and retain skilled young workers to the automotive industry. The EDI is specifically designed to cover up to $8,000 worth of training expenses for up to 800 young participants to learn automotive skills in a real-world placement.
Funding Amount
The EDI will cover up to $8,000 worth of training expenses for up to 800 young participants who receive placements with employers and community partners.
Eligible Applicants
To be an eligible participant in this placement, applicants must be: (1) Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit), (2) People of colour, (3) Persons with disabilities under Section 10(1) of the Ontario Human Rights Code, (4) Women or (5) Youth aged 15-29 years old at start of placement.
Eligible Applicants
Partners must be operating out of Ontario and offer a 6-month placement which provides the following: (1) Opportunity to learn through experiential training, (2) Skills training that is participated in and verified, and (3) Development of participant’s employable skills must be fostered through personal-growth practices.
