Attend Institute of Food Processing Technology’s September 29-30 Event

Conestoga College’s Institute of Food Processing Technology (IFPT) is a food manufacturing research and training centre located on Conestoga College’s Cambridge, Ontario campus. IFPT enables the training and development of a skilled workforce and intelligent companies by providing a modern training facility for students and businesses in the food and beverage industry. On September 29 and 30, 2015, IFPT will be hosting a course on Environmental Monitoring & Aseptic Techniques in their state of the art facility. Participants will learn how microbial conditions of a food processing plant relates to overall food safety practices, different monitoring techniques, and how to create a positive culture towards environmental monitoring.

Environmental Monitoring & Aseptic Techniques Course Details

This hands on-course will enable participants to actively participate in swabbing activities and other methods of sanitization. Aside from practical activities, participants will also receive theoretical training from some of the Institute’s top teaching professionals. A total of seven sessions will be provided which focus on:

  1. The environment, microorganisms, and food processing concerns;
  2. Introduction to environmental monitoring;
  3. Designing an environmental monitoring plan;
  4. Sanitation verification;
  5. Investigative monitoring;
  6. Maintaining an environmental program; and
  7. Training aseptic techniques to your technician.

Ontario Government Funding for Food and Beverage Processors

Businesses who wish to attend this course may receive 2/3 of their training costs in grant funding through the Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG). These small business grants enable businesses to recover 66% of eligible expenses for courses (such as Environmental Monitoring & Aseptic Techniques) and other third-party training to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee. Please be sure that your COJG application is accepted before carrying out payment and training activities.
