Although nothing has been officially announced in terms of IRAP small business funding grants for 2013, it is recommended to getting in touch with your IRAP ITA before April 1, 2013 to discuss potential projects for the 2013 Government fiscal year. Accelerated Review Process (ARP): Business Funding Grants for R&D, International Marketing, and More
IRAP ARP’s business funding grants are best suited for Canadian businesses aiming to overcome a technical challenge with technical or research innovations. This Canadian business funding aspect of IRAP it is not suited for training projects. Businesses are eligible for IRAP ARP business funding grants must have 1- 500 people on payroll. Recipients are eligible for a $50,000 grant funding for business, dedicated to 80% of direct labour costs and 50% of sub-contractor costs.

Digital Technology Adoption Pilot Program (DTAPP): Business Funding Grants for Technology Implementation/Customization
DTAPP offers business funding grants to Canadian businesses aspiring to increasing productivity and competitiveness through the adoption of digital technologies. Maximum grant funding for business through DTAPP is $100,000 or 80% of direct labour and 75% of subcontractor fees. To be eligible for DTAPP businesses must be incorporated with less than 500 employees.

- Extension of ERP Modules for Sales/AR, Multi-Product Configurator and Financial Reporting
- Revised Implementation of New Software and Order Entry Configurator for Order Placement and Confirmation
- Internal Configuration of Materials for Inventory Management
IRAP Mid-Sized Projects: Research and Development Funding
IRAP Mid-Sized Projects provide funding for small business in Ontario businesses striving to solve an innovation challenge through technology and research. This grant funding for business, IRAP Medium Sized projects, are projects that are $50K and greater in size. The actual project size will be negotiated between an IRAP-ITA and the SME based on the project’s business case and the amount of available IRAP budget at the given time. IRAP Mid-Sized Projects do not target training. To be eligible businesses must have at least one person on payroll.

- Creation of Original Software
- Development of New Products, Including Manufacturing Process Analysis and Product Testing
- R&D, Prototyping, Feasibility Studies, and Commercialization of New Technologies and Products
IRAP Youth Employment Program (YEP): Government Small Business Funding Grants for Hiring
IRAP YEP provides Ontario business funding grants for companies looking to hire up to 2 recent Canadian graduates under the age of 31 for a unique position within their company. This funding for small business will provide a maximum of $15,000 for each 12-month full-time recent graduate hire. The graduate hired can be used in areas such as research and development, engineering, multimedia, market analysis, business development, and improvements to customer service.
