Ontario – SCAP – Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program
Receive up to $25,000 Per Acre in Project Funding.
Through the Ontario Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program (RALP), the Ontario Government has announced new funding to support Ontario farmers in making their agricultural lands more productive and resilient. The RALP initiative will provide funding support to projects aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sequester carbon.

Amount of Funding
Funding amounts range from $30/ acre to $25,000/ acre depending on project priorities.

Eligible Applicants
Applicants may be eligible for this program if they meet the following criteria:
- Be an Ontario farm business with a valid farm business registration number.
- Specific eligibility criteria are applicable to each stream of eligible projects.

Eligible Activities
Eligible Projects include:
- Natural Grassland Establishment – for establishing a single-species or diverse native perennial grasslands.
- Perennial Biomass & Warm Season Pastures – for increasing plantings of perennial biomass crops / warm season pastures in annual crop rotations or converting marginal and high-risk crop-land into perennial biomass & warm season pastures.
- Reduced Tillage – for moderate to substantial reductions to tillage practices.
- Tree and Shrub Planting – for activities supporting improving or the establishment of new tree/ shrub stands.
- Water Retention Features – to renew or rejuvenate an existing water retention feature or establish a new feature or a lined reservoir.
- Wetlands – for restoring the function, increasing the acreage, or establishment of new wetlands.

The intake period started on October 24, 2023. Intake will close when funding has been fully allocated.
